Introduction
Identity isn’t something you build; it’s something you receive or accept.
For a long time, I looked for ‘who I was’ in my work, my hobbies, my actions, and the world’s opinions and titles. But those things shift like sand. This page is dedicated to sharing the Experience beyond intellectual understanding of an Identity that never changes—your Identity in Christ.
Caritas Dei—the Love of God—is the foundation of everything. Join me as we dive into what it truly means to be His.
Day One
Identity in the world is built upon time. I am this body, I am this name, I am this ethnic group, I am this position, I am from this organisation or denomination, I have these personal preferences. Built on sand, they are temporal. These identities can be taken away in the blink of an eye. It is these shifting identities that make up the self-concept that takes the place of the Identity of Christ.
This self-concept is what takes the place of the Peace and Love of God, as when misidentified with, are defended against other brother’s and sister’s of Christ. This self-concept, being prideful, takes the place of humility. Built upon sand, requires defence and perceives others as attacking it. The resulting fruits are spiritual death.
Who are you when all of these temporal identities are taken away or surrendered to Him?
Identity in Christ is not built, but received or accepted. Rooted in God, it requires no defence. Being of Perfect Love, contains no fear or condemnation. Being Reality, contains no doubt.
Before the foundations of the world were laid, God already knew your name and chose you to be His. You didn’t have to “apply” for this position. You were selected by Him, to release the amnesia Satan places over your eyes and awaken to Reality in Him, once again.
